Paul Meagher Jr

President

Paul Meagher Jr graduated from Honesdale High School and The University of Scranton. Paul is an active member of our community. Paul currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Wayne County Planning Commission, the Greater Honesdale Partnership, and the Wayne Woodlands Manor Nursing Home. Paul is a member of Saint John the Evangelist parish in Honesdale where he serves as a lector. He is a past board member of the Wayne County Public Library and the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. Paul and his wife Jenny live in Dyberry Township with their four children Paul III, Anne, Erin, and Claire.

Commercial Insurance

Paul Meagher Sr. graduated from Honesdale High School and Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Very active in the community he has served as President of the Honesdale Little League Association, President of the Board of Directors of Wayne Memorial Hospital as well as President of the Wayne Economic Development Corporation. He has served on the Board of Directors of Honesdale National Bank for over 30 years. Served in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for 12 years and was Commanding Officer of Company A 1^st Battalion Mechanized Infantry Honesdale. Paul is currently serving as Co-Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Wayne County YMCA.

Maurice F. Meagher

Business Development

Maurice F. Meagher Jr. was born in the old hospital on Court Street in Honesdale. He spent many summers working the family farm in Pleasant Mount. Maurice graduated from Holy Cross and was commissioned as an officer in the US Navy serving in South America, Canada, Japan and Viet Nam. Maurice retired from the Navy after a 20 year career as a Captain. Maurice has always been a dedicated member of our community. He served on both the Wayne County Housing Board and the Wayne County Redevelopment Authority for 25 and 20 years respectively. Maurice was elected to and became President of Honesdale Borough Council. He was one of the founders of Honesdale Missy Basketball and coached both Missy and Biddy Basketball for many years. Maurice is a member of countless organizations his most relished is his service to Saint John the Evangelist parish in Honesdale where he currently serves as Head Usher.

Jenn Mehrtens

Agent

Jenn has been with The Meagher Agency since December of 2021. She has lived in Wayne County for 30 years and has one daughter. Jenn works in our personal lines department. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family.

Agent

Jackie is our Personal Lines Agent and has been with us for over 10 years. She loves being a part of our team and working in different areas to learn new things. Jackie has lived in Honesdale most of her life and volunteers at the local animal shelter. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and taking long walks with her dogs.

Matt Anderson

Agent/ Office Manager

Matthew is the Office Manager/ Agent in our Moscow location. He is also an experienced Financial Representative holding a Series 7 and 63 License. For the past 23 years he has helped individuals and business’ develop financial plans. Matthew is an avid Equestrian and enjoys showing American Quarter Horses. Also, in his free time he enjoys paddle boarding and spending time outdoors.

Lawrence B. Stich MBA

Agent

Larry is a Medicare and Health Insurance specialist, and he can also help you with Life Insurance. Larry joined our team November of 2021 primarily to help folks with Medicare and Health Insurance. Larry has been in the Financial Industry for over 17 years in different capacities including that of Compliance officer. The Meagher Agency takes its responsibility of Fiduciary very seriously. Larry is a former Lieutenant of Marines and is dedicated to God, Country & his Family.

Cathie has been with our Agency for 32 years. She specializes in commercial and farm insurance but also likes to cross-sell personal lines as well. Cathie has lived in Honesdale her whole life and is married to her high school sweetheart. They have four children and 7 grandchildren. Cathie enjoys spending time outside relaxing and tending to her flower gardens.

Brittany recently moved from New Jersey to Honesdale. Brittany worked with Nationwide Insurance commercial lines prior to joining our agency and now specializes in writing commercial lines in our agency. Brittany is excited to be part of the team and part of the community!

Jason grew up in Honesdale and enjoys helping and working with people. He is an avid painter and photographer who loves nature and the outdoors. He also believes everyone deserves great service, even if you’re not buying anything.

Becky Simko

Agent

Becky is originally from Falls PA and moved to Pleasant Mount 5 years ago. She has three children who are her world. She has worked in the Collision repair field since she was 16 and was a Physical Damage Appraiser for 8 years prior to this. Becky loves to hunt, fish, and spend a lot of time outdoors. She has a passion for motorcycles and racing and previously was a Volunteer Firefighter for two great companies out of Harding, PA and Orange, PA. Becky loves helping people in any way that she can and has always been a part of the community growing up, and continues being a part of the community now. She is excited to be a part of the Meagher Agency family, and can’t wait to help with your insurance needs!

Val is originally from New Jersey and moved to the Honesdale area in 1979. She began working with Meagher insurance in 1983. She later went on to open her own insurance agencies for 20 years! After retiring, she decided she missed her work and came back to the Meagher Agency! She has a heavy background in commercial line, but can help you with all of your insurance needs from home to auto to life and much more!

Laura Hooker is a new agent at the Meagher Insurance Agency. She is a life-long Wayne County resident along with her father, sister, and grandparents. She graduated from Honesdale High School in 2017. She resides in Honesdale with her family, boyfriend, and their dog. She enjoys going to new restaurants, being outside, and spending time with with friends and family.
